The Comptons have been entertaining people in and around Floyd County for many, many years.  Their beautifully blended harmonies end up floating around in your memory for weeks.  This is bluegrass and gospel at it's best. 

The band is based around a father and his two sons.  Clinton has been singing all of his life (and he's no spring chicken).  He sang with the "Young Virginaians" in the 60's and 70's.  He's picked with some of blugrass' finest too.  It was only natural that his sons, Darryl, and Roger (RC) fell right into place. Darryl's guitar work, along with Roger's bass playing form the backbone of the music as their friends join in on other instruments.  Recently, Sammy Shelor, and Bonsi Vinceti have filled the banjo slots and Tim Goins has joined them on dobro. Eric Reece sits in from time to time with mando and bass vocals.

If you've never seen them perform, then put another log on the fire, put out the cat and go.  Guaranteed GREAT family entertainment.
